- GT4 Championship
Reigning Dutch GT4 champion Phil Bastiaans will return to the 2011 HTC Dutch GT4 Championship. Team HTC Porsche Eindhoven announced Bastiaans will return to race the Porsche 911 GT4 and will be partnered by former Le Mans 24 Hours winner Jan Lammers.
HTC replaces Bilderberg as the team’s title sponsor for the new season in which Bastiaans and Lammers will try to secure the third consecutive drivers’ title for Porsche. Bilderberg will remain onboard as partner, as is NEC. The GT3.NL developed Porsche 911 GT4 will again be run by Revs Motorsport this season.
Bastiaans won the 2010 HTC Dutch GT4 Championship title in the final race of the season and is happy to return to the series with an experienced teammate like Jan Lammers. “It won’t be easy to clinch the championship with Porsche for the third time in succession. Therefore I am pleased to have a very experienced driver as my teammate. Jan will certainly not panic quickly, even if we would experience some setbacks at the beginning of the year. I will raise the bar again in 2011. The objective is to still be in the title fight at the final races at Zandvoort. That’s what we are aiming for!”
For Lammers the move to Team HTC Porsche Eindhoven means he will no longer be a racing team boss, like he was in the Ford Mustang in the previous seasons. The 54-year-old is looking forward to the new season and working together with his new teammate. “I still believe I can go fast and Paul van Splunteren’s team will give me the chance to show it”, says Lammers. “I have reduced my activities as a team boss of Racing for Holland to almost zero. I find myself in the middle of a reorientation of my racing life. Starting this Dutch GT4 adventure with Phil and Paul is a good start. The Porsche is a car with a real chance to win. I definitely want to taste success again. Phil will lead the team as the champion. If it turns out that I will be fast as well, it will be a bonus. I will give maximum support to Phil and the team. I am really motivated, already lost seven kilograms and just completed the grueling Dakar rally. I am very fit!”
Having signed Bastiaans and Lammers Team HTC Porsche Eindhoven’s team boss Paul van Splunteren could not be more happier. “Phil and Jan as a duo will be a guaranteed spectacle. It is an honor to have someone with such an experience and accomplishments to race for us. Lammers is a doyen of Dutch motorsport. With the experienced Phil and Jan our ambitions are clear. This season we will once again go for the highest possible: the championship.”

- Black Porsche Cayenne
The story behind it is not a nice one: Four guys robbed a bank somewhere in Moscow and killed one of the bank employees. Multiple witnesses saw them getting away in a black Porsche Cayenne with a 177 – 177 license plate. Police deployed a SWAT team a couple kilometers down the always busy Moscow roads ready to ambush the bank robbers.
This is where the video kicks in. A member of the police force films how the SWAT team is waiting for the black Porsche matching the 177 – 177 license plate, when it shows up SWAT quickly attacks the vehicle. A flash bang is deployed to blind and disorient the people inside the car, the tyres are popped and the windows are smashed. Only than they find out this Techart Cayenne does not belong to the bank robbers but to two businessmen who are going into town to have lunch…
The Cayenne is taken out of sight and the mistake should be dealt with while the SWAT team again deploys along the side of the road waiting for the right Cayenne. For the second time they attack a black Cayenne matching the description and this time it’s the right one. It shows there’s not to be messed with the SWAT and police teams in Russia. In the end the license plates both shared the 177 – 177 digit combination but had different letters combinations.

- Rob Dyrdek, MTV star
- 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo
Robert Stanley “Rob” Dyrdek (born June 28, 1974) is an American professional skateboarder, actor, entrepreneur, producer, philanthropist, and reality TV star. He is best known for his roles in the reality shows Rob and Big and Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory.
If you think you’ve seen MTV star Rob Dyrdek cruising the streets of Hollywood in a 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo, chances are it’s him.
Although Dyrdek owns a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, his Panamera satisfies his need for speed. He rates it a 10 out of 10. “For me, it’s perfect, man. The Panamera Turbo is a 10 because you plug your iPod in, your phone goes into the system, the dials in the pilot side of it is just so incredible, on top of the fact that it’s just so fast,” he says. “A very comfortable car to drive.”
The four-door Porsche turns heads on its own, and then gets a second glance as people realize it’s Dyrdek behind the wheel. “Absolutely, it’s more obnoxious to me than the Ferrari is,” he says. “I’ve got to get those tinted windows because half the people realize, ‘Oh, there’s Rob!’ Yeah, it’s ridiculous. I would prefer to be flossing in a nice set of rims behind a nice, dark tint.”
There are a couple of drawbacks to the Porsche. One is that he thinks everyone might also want to buy one, and the other is the car’s rear end. He describes it as “a bubble back. I just feel if they made a regular hatchback trunk it would be the best-selling car for Porsche,” he says. “I was waiting for two years for the Rapide and I was sick of waiting.”
