- 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo
Robert Stanley “Rob” Dyrdek (born June 28, 1974) is an American professional skateboarder, actor, entrepreneur, producer, philanthropist, and reality TV star. He is best known for his roles in the reality shows Rob and Big and Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory.
If you think you’ve seen MTV star Rob Dyrdek cruising the streets of Hollywood in a 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo, chances are it’s him.
Although Dyrdek owns a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, his Panamera satisfies his need for speed. He rates it a 10 out of 10. “For me, it’s perfect, man. The Panamera Turbo is a 10 because you plug your iPod in, your phone goes into the system, the dials in the pilot side of it is just so incredible, on top of the fact that it’s just so fast,” he says. “A very comfortable car to drive.”
The four-door Porsche turns heads on its own, and then gets a second glance as people realize it’s Dyrdek behind the wheel. “Absolutely, it’s more obnoxious to me than the Ferrari is,” he says. “I’ve got to get those tinted windows because half the people realize, ‘Oh, there’s Rob!’ Yeah, it’s ridiculous. I would prefer to be flossing in a nice set of rims behind a nice, dark tint.”
There are a couple of drawbacks to the Porsche. One is that he thinks everyone might also want to buy one, and the other is the car’s rear end. He describes it as “a bubble back. I just feel if they made a regular hatchback trunk it would be the best-selling car for Porsche,” he says. “I was waiting for two years for the Rapide and I was sick of waiting.”

- German Tuning company DMC
German Tuner DMC just announced its official performance and styling package for the Porsche Panamera. The set contains aerodynamic components and an engine tune-up. The exterior body parts stay loyal to the designer’s “Simple yet Dynamic” vision.
All components are manufactured from 100 percent pure carbon fiber. The front lip spoiler not only reduces the lift on the front axle, but also adds an aggressive look to the Panamera‘s appearance. The side grills showcase the company‘s skill at manufacturing carbon fiber, which is also found on the rear diffuser. It supports the driving stability by improving the air-flow and the looks make the Panamera stand out in the crowd.
On the engine side, DMC is now offering a package that improves engine power and torque. The stock 4.8 liter twin turbo engine with 500hp is increased to 580hp with the OEM integrated sports button. Engine torque is also increased from 516lb-ft to 605lb-ft. Additionally, in normal engine performance mode, power is increased to 550hp and 575lb-ft respectively.

- Panamera Hybrid
Porsche just has unveiled the new Porsche Panamera S Hybrid at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The Panamera S Hybrid will be the German automaker’s second gasoline-electric production model, after the Cayenne S Hybrid. It features an all-new hybrid powertrain that promises to deliver an average fuel consumption of 6.9L/100km while offering a combined power output of 283kW.
The Porsche Panamera S Hybrid is powered by a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine producing 248kW of power. This engine is then supported by a 34kW electric motor. The electric motor draws it power from a nickel metal hydride (NiMh) battery pack. This power is then sent to the rear wheels. The petrol engine and the electric motor can be isolated, allowing the car to be driven in full-petrol or full-electric modes as well.
Porsche says the Panamera S Hybrid still offers sports car-like performance, too, and is capable of doing the 0-100km/h sprint in just 5.7 seconds and going on to a top speed of 270km/h – now that’s a hybrid. Official EPA fuel consumption ratings are yet to be announced, but the car is capable of achieving 6.8L/100km on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), on optional low-resistance tyres – a figure of 7.1L/100km is capable on normal performance tyres.
In normal driving conditions, the petrol motor engine is switched off every time the accelerator pedal is relieved. In these circumstances the batteries for the electric motor are recharged thanks to regenerative technology.
The new model features a nickel-metal-hydride battery pack at a time when most competitors are making the shift to lithium-based batteries.
Standard equipment on the Panamera S Hybrid includes adaptive air suspension, Servotronic variable-assist power steering and Porsche Communication Management with navigation.
The Porsche Panamera S Hybrid will initially go on sale in the US during the end of this year, with prices starting at US$95,000.

The International Motor Show will be opening for its 81st edition from March 3 to 13, 2011 at Geneva Palexpo.
2011 is the year of hybrid cars for Porsche.
At the Motor Show in Geneva, Porsche will present the world’s first hybrid car developed by Ferdinand Porsche in 1900 with the Austrian firm Hofwagenfabrik Ludwig Lohner & Co.
The 111-year-old hybrid car, called the Semper Vivus (“always alive”), has been recreated by the experts from the museum for four years and is now fully operational. The first hybrid Porsche was equipped with two internal combustion engines, electric motors, as well as feeding it batteries. After the exhibition at the Motor Show in Geneva Semper Vivus will become part of the museum Porsche in Stuttgart.
The Porsche’s main star at this year’s Geneva Motor Show will be a hybrid sportscar of the Panamera hybrid.
At Geneva they will also show the 918 RSR concept race car that makes its European debut. Other cars on display at Porsche’s booth include the 330 hp (243 kW) Cayman R in Europe for the first time, alongside the the 911 Black Edition, limited to 1,911 units, based on the 345 hp (254 kW) 911 Carrera, and the Boxster S Black Edition, limited to 987 units worldwide

- Porsche Hybrid
Porsche has released details of the new Panamera S Hybrid, in an attempt to give the high-performance four-door grand tourer some green credentials.
It gets a supercharged 3.0-litre V6, which delivers 333bhp, as well as a 47bhp electric motor – which also works as a generator and a starter. Low rolling-resistance tyres are also fitted to help improve economy.
These changes allow the Porsche to return an average fuel consumption of 42mpg, along with emissions of 159g/km of CO2 – meaning road and showroom tax costs a sensible £155.
Performance hasn’t been compromised by the hybrid technology, as it will sprint to 62mph in six seconds and on to a top speed of 168mph
Running entirely on battery power the Porsche can cover just over a mile, with the car being able to accelerate up to 53mph using the electric motor alone. The hybrid drive is also the only system in the world that uses a so-called ‘sailing’ function, where the engine is switched off and the drivetrain disengaged, relying on the electric motor to nudge the car along at cruising speeds of up to 103mph.
It comes with an eight-speed automatic Tiptronic gearbox as well as a full leather interior, adaptive air suspension, a security tracking system, Bi-Xenon lights, park assist, touch-screen sat nav, cruise control and a three-year warranty. A special display panel is also fitted that shows the driver exactly how the hybrid system is performing.
The new Porsche Panamera S Hybrid goes on sale in June 2011, for £86,146 – around £9,000 more than an equivalent normal Panamera S.

Ne-Yo (the singer, songwriter and record producer, American, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith) was spotted arriving at a Grammy party in his new Porsche Panamera this past weekend. The paint job is an interesting rose gold color, with leather tan interior. I have never seen this color on this car before, and it is quite an interesting match. The Panamera is now the fifth model line offered by Porsche, featuring a direct injection 4.8-liter V-8 engine.
Ne-Yo loves the Porsche designed luxury cars. His garage was enriched last year of a Cayenne and Panamera
